GROUP chief executive officer Chua Sock Koong of Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) received a 19 per cent pay rise to almost S$5.6 million for the financial year ended March 31 (FY2015), a year when the group reported a 3.5 per cent growth in net profit to S$3.78 billion on a 2.2 per cent growth in operating revenue to S$17.22 billion.
The total pay package for FY2015 - a period notable for Singtel's rebranding in January and a social media saga in March - easily surpassed those of her peers at smaller rival telcos StarHub and M1 for their most recent full financial year (FY2014). Both the latter two have December financial year-end.
