PIZZA from South Korea, smart vending machines, and street churros. These are among the international franchises, business concepts, and licence opportunities that this year's Franchising & Licensing Asia (FLAsia) will present.

The 2-day event will kick off online on Thursday (Nov 25), and will feature a virtual exhibition with over 70 international brands from the food and beverage, education, retail, wellness and professional services industries that are keen to enter or grow their presence in Asian markets, said FLAsia in a media statement on Sunday (Nov 21). This will be the second year that it is being held online.

The event will host over 3,000 participants. It will feature 50 speakers across 15 keynote and panel sessions, including the director of branding and market development at Ya Kun, Jesher Loi as well as Andrea Bell, co-founder and director of Inspire Brands Asia.

Multinational convenience store chain 7-Eleven, homegrown lifestyle furniture retailer Commune, food and beverage players Creative Eateries, Jumbo and Tung Lok will be there too, FLAsia said. It added that attendees can learn more about franchising and licensing business models, the outlook for franchising businesses brought about by Covid-driven needs; as well as deep-dive into opportunities in markets such as Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Gulf Cooperation Council region.

"FLAsia 2021 is a great platform for businesses looking to expand locally, regionally and internationally," said Andrew Khoo, president of FLAsia Singapore.
