[NEW JERSEY] For several weeks, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, have been spotted house hunting around South Florida, specifically on Indian Creek, an exclusive barrier island north of Miami that the locals call the “Billionaires’ Bunker”.

It appears that the couple have finally pulled the trigger, reportedly buying an Indian Creek compound that is still under construction.

The closing price: US$170 million, making it the most expensive sale in Miami-Dade County history.

The sellers are Dr Aaron Rollins, a cosmetic surgeon, and real estate agent Marine Rollins. They put the unfinished estate on the market in November 2025 with an asking price of US$200 million. The sale was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

The compound, which is expected to be completed this year, sits on 0.7 hectares (ha). The centrepiece, a 27,889 square foot (sq ft) limestone mansion designed by architect Ferris Rafauli, will have nine bedrooms, 11 full bathrooms and four powder rooms, with a lift.

A representative for Zuckerberg, the chief executive officer of Meta, Facebook’s parent company, and Chan declined to comment.

The couple’s primary residence is in Palo Alto, California, and they own several other properties around the country.

Neither the listing brokers, Jill Hertzberg and Danny Hertzberg of Coldwell Banker Realty, nor the buyers’ broker, Brett Harris of Bespoke Real Estate, would comment on the sale, except to say that it was closed. Both sides cited non-disclosure agreements.

Zuckerberg is the latest in a string of ultra-wealthy buyers drawn to South Florida, many of whom are attracted to the area’s tropical and tax-friendly climate. High-profile residents of the gated Indian Creek community have included Jeff Bezos, Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.

    Listing for Chris Hughes

Chris Hughes, a founder of Facebook along with Zuckerberg, is selling the Washington, DC, home that he shares with his husband, political activist Sean Eldridge. Their asking price is US$8.75 million.

The six-bedroom, six-full-and-two-half-bathroom house, which the couple bought in 2021 for US$7.8 million, is in Washington’s Kalorama neighbourhood, home to former presidents, diplomats and other notable residents.

Built in the early 20th century, the Romanesque Revival-style structure sits on 0.06 ha and has around 8,800 sq ft of interior space over three main levels, plus a finished lower level with a gym and a wine cellar. It also comes with a lift.

The landscaped rear garden features a dining area, a fire pit, a built-in grill station, a pergola and a fountain. Marin Hagen and Sylvia Bergstrom of Coldwell Banker Realty are the listing agents.

    Ivana Trump’s mansion

Ivana Trump’s five-storey Manhattan town house, where she lived for three decades after her divorce from US President Donald Trump, is finally sold.

The closing price was US$14 million, a hefty discount from the US$26.5 million initially sought in late 2022, several months after her death in the home.

The 20-foot-wide limestone mansion was built in 1879 in the Lenox Hill neighbourhood of the Upper East Side, less than a block from Central Park. Measuring 8,725 sq ft, it has five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms, with a 700 sq ft rear garden.

Ivana Trump bought the house in 1992 from architect Francois de Menil, financing the purchase with a US$2.4 million mortgage, and then she undertook major renovations.

She adorned the well-proportioned rooms with Rococo grandeur, employing lavish finishes and decor including crystal chandeliers, custom panelling, Chinese murals and lots of marble and gold, not to mention leopard print.

Adam Modlin of the Modlin Group and Roger Erickson of Douglas Elliman Real Estate handled the listing on behalf of Ivana Trump’s estate. Modlin also represented the anonymous buyer.

Christian Candy trades house for triplex

British developer Christian Candy and his wife, Emily Crompton-Candy, received US$55 million for their grand Manhattan town house – well below the US$70 million they initially sought, but still above their US$48 million purchase price in 2022.

The beaux-arts building, with bas-relief carvings gracing the limestone facade, was built in the early 1900s and is a couple of blocks from Ivana Trump’s town house.

The five-storey, 25-foot-wide house has nearly 15,000 sq ft, including six bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, eight of them full. The primary suite encompasses the entire third floor and features two en-suite bathrooms, a wood-panelled library, a gas fireplace and a large dressing room.

On the lower level is a gym, a sauna, a steam room and a massage room. Other amenities include a wine cellar, a home office, a laundry room and a tiled dog-wash station.

The rooftop terrace has areas for lounging and dining beneath a cedar pergola, a fully-equipped kitchen, and views of the nearby Central Park. And, yes, there is an lift.

The listing broker was Adam Modlin of the Modlin Group.

The Candys are not leaving New York, though. They bought a triplex penthouse on Billionaires’ Row in midtown last year for US$46.9 million.

Candy and his brother, Nick Candy, were behind the development of One Hyde Park, a luxury residential and retail complex in London.

    Sean Hannity’s Florida estate

In his latest real estate move, Sean Hannity, the Fox News television host, has listed his waterfront estate in Manalapan, Florida, for US$44.9 million.

He owns numerous properties around the country. He bought the Florida home, south of Palm Beach, in late 2024 for US$23.5 million after selling his estate in Oyster Bay, New York, earlier that year.

The Manalapan compound, on just under 0.8 ha, fronts both the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, and comes with private dockage. It features a nearly 13,000 sq ft Mediterranean-style mansion which was built in 1990, and a guest cottage near the beach, for a total of eight bedrooms and 10 1/2 bathrooms.

There is also a pool and several terraces, each providing water views.

Nicholas Malinosky and Jessica Julian of Douglas Elliman are the listing agents.

    Justin Baldoni relocates

Actors Justin Baldoni and his wife, Emily Baldoni, have put their four ha estate in Santa Paula, California, up for sale, asking for US$8.8 million. The couple, who reportedly relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, bought the property in 2020 for US$2.1 million.

Justin Baldoni recently starred in and directed the film This Ends With Us, starring Blake Lively and Emily Baldoni. Lively later sued Justin Baldoni for harassment, retaliation and defamation.

Built in a Mediterranean style in 2003, the house is around 5,200 sq ft, with five bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a full gym converted from a garage, and two laundry areas.

Its amenities include an outdoor kitchen, a saltwater pool and hot tub, a fire pit, pickleball and basketball courts, an in-ground LED-lit trampoline, a putting green and a koi pond with a waterfall.

Two imported domes – one for yoga and the other for guests – are also on the property.

Lester Cook of Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing.

As seen on TV and in film

The house in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that was Walter White’s residence in the TV series Breaking Bad sold for US$1.3 million. The 1,910 sq ft house, with four bedrooms and two bathrooms, was first listed in early 2025 for US$3.995 million.

With no takers, it was removed from the market at the end of the year and re-listed in February at US$400,000, sparking a bidding war. Alicia Feil of Keller Williams Realty was the listing agent; her colleague, Ashley Shaffer, represented the buyer.

The Brooklyn penthouse that appeared in the latest Spike Lee movie, Highest 2 Lowest starring Denzel Washington, sold for US$16.25 million, below the US$17.5 million asking price but still one of the most expensive sales in borough history.

The 4,928 sq ft apartment, on the 32nd floor of the Olympia Dumbo condominium, has five bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a home office and a 552 sq ft terrace.

The listing agents from Douglas Elliman are Jessica Peters, Carl Ekroth, Fredrick Eklund and John Gomes, and from Sotheby’s, Casey Heyman and Karen Heyman.

    A quick update

The Los Angeles compound where filmmaker David Lynch lived and worked for more than three decades sold for US$13 million – below the US$15 million asking price from six months ago. The buyer is unknown.

The property is on a nearly one ha hillside enclave in Hollywood Hills, and includes five main structures, totalling around 11,000 sq ft, with a combined 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. Lynch died in January 2025. NYTIMES
