Best places in Singapore to find vintage furniture
From Danish designs to mid-century masterpieces, vintage hunts are journeys through time and style
IN vintage furniture stores, every corner tells a story. A sleek Eames lounge chair beckons in one corner, while a Dutch-Indonesian vanity calls out from another. Each item, carefully restored to its former glory, has a sense of character and sophistication that often cannot be replicated in the furniture of today.
That is one reason why furniture store Journey East’s annual Vintage Fair has been carrying on successfully for nine years. The fair returns this weekend (Apr 6 and 7) with not just furniture, but also vintage bags, jewellery, toys and other collectibles.
Other beloved havens for vintage furniture such as Noden, Lorgan’s The Retro Store, Hock Siong & Co and Treasure At Home continue to draw a steady stream of customers, a testament to the enduring allure of the past.
