MOM extends part-time re-employment grant to 2027
Eligible employers will receive a grant of S$2,500 for every senior worker aged 60 and above they employ or retain
[SINGAPORE] The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has extended the Part-Time Re-employment Grant (PTRG) for an additional two years to Dec 31, 2027.
Announced on Thursday (Dec 18), the move aims to support senior worker employment by providing grants to employers who offer part-time re-employment, flexible work arrangements and structured career planning for senior workers.
Under the extension, eligible employers will receive a grant of S$2,500 for each senior worker aged 60 and above they employ or retain. Total funding is capped at $125,000 per company.
The Singapore National Employers Federation remains the appointed programme partner for the initiative.
Applications for the scheme reopened on Thursday.
“Encouraging” take-up rates
The extension follows what the ministry described as “encouraging” take-up rates since the grant was introduced in 2020.
As at November 2025, more than 7,500 employers have tapped the fund, benefiting over 65,000 senior workers. To date, more than S$92 million has been disbursed under the programme.
The PTRG functions as part of a broader ecosystem of support for Singapore’s ageing workforce.
Other existing measures include the Senior Employment Credit, which provides wage offsets of up to 7 per cent for hiring those aged 60 and over, and the SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme for mature workers.
In July 2025, the MOM and its tripartite partners also convened the Tripartite Workgroup on Senior Employment. The group has since launched an “Alliance for Action” comprising 32 organisations. This alliance is tasked with prototyping solutions in areas such as job redesign, flexi-load roles, and career guidance to facilitate multi-stage careers for mature employees.
